Annie Khalid receives outpouring of love and support after revealing daughter’s medical condition
Annie Khalid, the singer and model who catapulted to fame with her song ‘Mahiya’, shared a post last week in which she spoke about her daughter Isha and the medical problems she has suffered in the past year. Her post touched the hearts of many people, including a number of fellow celebrities including Farhan Saeed, Zara Noor Abbas and Hadiqa Kiani, who offered messages of love and support.
The heart-wrenching post featured a video with a caption that detailed everything the little girl had gone through, including two cardiac arrests on January 23, 2024.
“That day, my daughter Isha, my bright, healthy, joyful seven-year-old suffered not one, but two cardiac arrests, just eight hours apart. Her tiny heart was overwhelmed by arrhythmia and hypoxia. Oxygen deprivation for 45 long, brutal minutes caused her organs to start shutting down, one by one,” she wrote.
“She wasn’t responding.?Her body was tired.?And we were told…it was time to put her on life support.?She was intubated. Connected to a heart-lung bypass machine. Dialysis keeping her kidneys alive.”
She said she watched “through a blur of tears as my little girl, who once danced through our home with endless energy, lay motionless, tangled in wires and machines”.
“My Isha.?Born perfectly healthy. Not a single condition.?Now facing organ failure, brain damage, and paralysis.?Doctors told us she had developed peripheral neuropathy, and because of the extent of the brain injury, she could no longer walk.?A wheelchair became part of her story. But even in the darkest moment, I held onto faith.?Because when medicine had no more answers…Allah did.”
She described Isha as God’s miracle and said the doctors are still in awe and cannot explain how she survived. “But I can:?because where logic ends, divine mercy begins. She’s here. My daughter is alive.?She’s smiling, laughing, healing.?She’s stronger than I ever knew a child could be.?And Insha’Allah, she will walk again one day. I believe that with every beat of my heart,” said Khalid.
“People have been asking,?‘Annie, where have you been?’?I’ve been here!! doing the most important thing in the world.?Being a mother to the most courageous, resilient, and beautiful girl I’ve ever known. Please keep Isha in your Duas.”
Her post prompted an outpouring of love and support, both in the comment section as well as elsewhere on social media.
“My heart sank just reading this, I can’t even begin to imagine what you felt as [a] mother,” said Saeed in an Instagram story shared on Wednesday. He said while he doesn’t have any words to say, he is praying to God for a miracle and puts Khalid’s daughter back on her feet, “healthy and happy within no time InshAllah”.
“And that’s what I say to people who ask about the ‘actress’ who has gone from the screen or music; chasing your goals and then putting a pause to your desires and dreams to raise a family; to nourish it and build it is hard, hard work. And not everyone can do it. Or manage it. So ode to women who do so, and still stand with a soft heart and kind soul,” wrote Abbas in an Instagram story.
“[Annie] I am so proud of what you have done for your daughter. May Allah bless her and give her a long healthy life.”
Other celebrities also shared messages of support in the comment section of her post, including Muniba Mazari, Nadia Hussain and Aisha Malik.
Kiani also commented, saying it was shocking and painful to see this little angel going through all this pain.
The comment section will filled with people sending their love and prayers for Isha and hoping that she recovers soon.
